What Is This Mess?

My blog needs a facelift. Which graphic designer has such a plain* blog?!

Um, let's not answer that.

Anyways, I finally got my ass down to Cherating and had a blast of a time with Nadine surfing! Yup, definitely something I'm going to do often...

*in order not to offend the orginal designer of this blog, I chose to use an ambiguous adjective! Me quite smart sometimes!

Getting to Work

Commuting to work every morning is a boring, mundane and mind-numbing routine that everyone hates to go through but has to.

Every morning, I catch a ride with my parents and they drop me off at Hougang MRT before I stuff myself into a train with 29842134827 other people. I swear some women hammer their 4 inch heels into the escalator steps. I rather listen to Martha Stewart. (Then again...)

I had forgotten that my EZ Link card was in the red and tried to get through the gates. Of course, I was rejected and had to backtrack. Now, there was a tsk from the man behind me. Wow, I sure spoiled your day huh? I'm sure your boss is going to be shaking his head and slamming reports back in your face the minute you walk in JUST because I delayed your entry to the train! To think that my initial reaction was to apologise.

Hey Mr., if you're running late, that's your shit. Aren't you tired of finding yourself rushing to work every day? Just get out of the house 15 mins earlier and you can stroll to work, like me. I'm never in a rush to work. And if you're already late, what's the point of running (especially when the train is not even there)? 5 - 10 mins isn't going to make a big difference.

I like my mornings. I love the smell and feel of the morning sun uninterrupted. I don't even light up a cigarette. So if you're missing all that just to tsk at people to rush to work, that's really your loss.

On a sidenote: Has anyone noticed that you can no longer find Spearmint Mentos on the shelves? Why! It can't possibly be tainted with melamine milk right?!

I Think I Need Some Form Of Exercise

The only exercise I have been getting these days are yawning and stretching. I think I need something more exciting.

I need to read some more books. And Terry Brooks' new book is only coming out in August. How to tahan like that?

-_- Well, surely you can tell I'm just blogging for the sake of blogging. zzZ

Sleepy Monday.

The Sleeping Beast

Hear ye, hear ye. This man is guilty of being a complete ass by pretending to sleep on the train despite a heavily pregnant woman standing in front of him.

Monday Blues

I know Mondays are never much fun but at least they shouldn't be horrid!

My morning started seemingly peaceful, but not without the nagging knowing that I'd be late for work. Being late for work wasn't that big a deal because I could just take the hours off from my replacement leave. You see, the real annoyance is having to pay cab fare. But today! The cab fare was the least of my worries.

Barely 5 minutes on his cab and I began to suspect that the cab driver was trying to nauseate me to death with his terrible driving. I don't usually get car sickness. But when I do, it's bad enough to practically kill me. My head throbs, my chest tightens and I suddenly have difficulty breathing. In fact, I look like I'm having some asthma attack. And I've noticed its occurrence is relative to drivers with what I call the 'Australian Syndrome'. I don't mean to accuse EVERY Australian of this fault but I've noticed that many Australians adopt a driving philosophy of "Stop-And-Go", in which they are completely incapable of easing to a stop or easing off as they accelerate. They just simply brake hard and accelerate hard. And that, my friend, makes you sicker than a fish out of water!

Once in the office, it turns out that a whole bunch of us were late today and someone's not happy. This is highly inappropriate and out of line but it is the perfect situation to just say, "Whatever!" We're humans not robots and I think our 'free' OT-ing has well overwritten the right for you to hiam that you have to pay a lot for our cab fare home because now you are being downright ungrateful. You can't expect us not to OT and still deliver to meet deadlines because of your succumbent to clients' ridiculous demands. We can accept that clients are and will be difficult but that resignation does not extend to you and your system.

I've already been in the office for 2 hours trying to recover from the awful cab misadventure and its effects are still not wearing off. On top of that, I am now struck with painful hiccups. Not a good Monday huh.

Sleepy Days

I can't believe it's onlyy Wednesday.

I'm still at work at 5++AM. Well technically, I went home and rushed back immediately after a bath. Even as I'm typing this, I'm wondering where all my precious sleep has gone.

Some People Have All The Charm

I once overheard Japanese salarymen on the bus commenting how kakkoii Odagiri Joe is.

Aさん「かっこいいね、小田切譲は」
〇さん「うん、そうですね」

Well, too bad for fans, cos the heartthrob recently married actress Kashii Yuu. Most may remember her in Death Note as Light's unfortunate girlfriend. She also acted in a Detective Conan tanpatsu beside Oguri Shun, and recently alongside Akanishi Jin and Yokoyama Yu in Yukan Club. Did you know that she lived in Singapore during her primary school days?!

I was going to talk about Odagiri Joe but I ended up talking about her. Aiyo, the power of digression. The most interesting thing is that they share the same birthday, 9 years apart! Maybe it was a topic that started off their relationship. Some people have all the luck.

Signs the World is Unfair

Why is Ryo Ishikawa so damn cute?

And only 16 years old?! (17 this year)
